Granny Tubs Games makes small, cosy, and history-themed games with accessibility at their heart.
The studio was named in memory of my Dad and his mum (Granny Tubs). The first game I made was designed around my Dad's specific needs because he was in his eighties, learning to play computer games for the first time, with restricted hand mobility and declining cognitive ability. Building something that worked for him shaped everything about how I think about game design: minimal inputs, forgiving mechanics, gentle pacing, and no punishment for getting things wrong.
Alongside accessible design, I'm interested in games as a way of making history feel alive. I'm a historian researching Victorian craft publishing and women's economic lives, and I believe interactive narrative is one of the most powerful ways to bring overlooked stories to people who would never pick up an academic paper.
Games are built in Unity and Ink. Future projects include slow narrative games and history-themed interactive experiences drawn from archival research.
